Ever use windows search to look for ‘A word or phrase in the file’ but your search doesn’t pickup the files you want.  If the file extension is .XML, .VB, .config or many others, Windows Search may be ignoring it.

to resolve,  save this as a .reg file:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\ContentIndex]
"FilterFilesWithUnknownExtensions"=dword:00000001

Or,

 Search > Change preferences > With Indexing Service >(leave as NO) Change Indexing Service settings > Hide/Show action pane  (icon beside help > More Actions > Properties > [x] Index files with unknown extensions
